Who Am I and Why Am I Here?

I am a daughter, sister, friend, and ally. I am a student at Auburn University working every day to earn a degree so that I can change the world. I never want anyone to feel like they are alone in this world. It is one of the biggest lies we can be told.

I believe everyone is here for a purpose and to find that purpose is so important. I have discovered that people are my passion. I especially love to help people who either don't have a voice or can't help themselves. My hope is that one day there will be less need for a fight for equality.

My Values, Vision, Issues, and Impact

My values reflect my vision for my life. Honesty, equality, and family are of utmost importance to me. In addition to this, child care, human rights, and racism are key issues I wish to combat in my career as a sociologist and philanthropist. Equal human rights encompass all my values, vision, and help decrease the issues and concerns I am passionate about changing. I hope to change the way the world sees each other. We are one and we are all one people. My ultimate dream is for the world to see this as fact.

How I Will Spend My Time, Talent, Treasure and Trust

I have spent my time doing a lot of volunteering with organizations that help underprivileged children as well as women from broken relationships. I would love to continue to work with organizations such as these as well as explore other options such as Storybook Farms, Braveheart, and The Human Rights Campaign. As far as my talents and treasures go, I tend to pick up things quickly when it comes to technology which could make me a valuable team member. I also enjoy being organized, making plans, and organizing events. Lastly, I have always been great with children and would love to work with them professionally if possible. It is important for me to have a trust in the name of a nonprofit I believe in so that they can receive the help they need for years down the road.

My Philanthropic Mission Statement

My goal is to ensure that I make giving philanthropically monthly a priority. Unfortunately, sometimes good intentions don't come to fruition simply because they slip our minds when we get caught up with our busy lives. I plan to make sure that this doesn't happen. One reason I want to give is because people have given to me. Being philanthropic can set the tone for a positive change, even if it's a small contribution.

Why Being Financially and Philanthropically Responsible is Important

If you wish to be philanthropic in life, then being financially and philanthropically responsible go hand in hand. Being financially responsible early in life allows you to be better prepared for life later on. This can include investing and preparing for retirement. Doing this early will save you financial trouble later in life. In addition to this, having a spending plan allows you to keep track of expenses as well incorporate your desired philanthropic contribution if you choose to do so. You may also choose to have your will leave a legacy to a nonprofit or charity of your choosing which should be decided sooner rather than later.

My Desires for My Philanthropic Legacy

My desire for my philanthropic legacy is to have it grow continuously as I grow with my career. Once I graduate and get my first job out of college, I would like to donate anywhere from 5-10% of my income monthly. As I continue to become more financially stable, I would love to increase my contribution to anywhere from 15-20%. In addition to this, I will be very philanthropically involved with nonprofit organizations in my career. I look forward to seeing where my goals and aspirations for my career will take me and I hope they change the world.
