What Will I Leave Behind?

A legacy is incredibly important, so we have to make sure we're working towards our legacy every day. Personally, I want to change the lives of those around me for the better as much as I can. I believe society has failed a lot of people and I feel I have been given the opportunity to be an ally in their fight. I hope that when people look back on my life they remember me as someone who loved other people for who they were regardless of their circumstances. As this class has emphasized, prioritizing philanthropy is important. Being philanthropic will help me achieve my goals of changing the way society views marginalized groups and also change the way the institutions work that put them there in the first place. In addition to this, I will work early, regularly, and aggressively for the cause and people I am passionate about. Leaving a legacy will not only remind others of what I stand for, but also serve as an example of what they can do with their own lives.
